Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does the count include the end date?

Not by default. It counts the full days from the start to the end. Tick the inclusive option and the end day is added, so Monday to Friday reads as five days.

Is February 29 counted?

Yes. Leap days are counted wherever the range crosses one, so a span over a leap year is one day longer than the same span in an ordinary year.

Can it count working days only?

No. The count is calendar days. There is no option to drop weekends or public holidays from the total.

Are the dates I pick sent anywhere?

No. The arithmetic runs in your browser tab. Nothing about the dates is uploaded or stored, and closing the page clears them.

Background

Counting with or without the end day

Pick the two dates. The count is the number of full days from one to the other, with leap days included. Tick the option to count the end day as well.

  • Left out by default, the count is the number of nights between the two dates.
  • Ticked, the count is the number of days the period covers, which is what a schedule usually means.
  • The two answers always differ by exactly one, so pick the one your case needs.
