Frequently asked questions
When do hours start counting as overtime?
Above the weekly threshold in the panel, forty hours by default. Change it to the number your rules use. The test is week by week, so 45 hours then 35 is five hours of overtime.
How is overtime pay worked out?
Regular hours are priced at your hourly rate. Hours above the threshold are priced at that rate times the multiplier you set, and appear on their own line.
Does the total take tax off?
No. The figure is gross pay, before tax, insurance, pension or any other deduction. What lands in your account will be lower.
Is my pay rate sent anywhere?
No. The rate, the hours and the totals stay in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded or stored, and closing the page clears every field.
What the threshold means
Log start, end and unpaid break for each day. Hours above the weekly threshold are priced at the multiplier you set, and show on their own line beside regular pay.
- The threshold is the point where the multiplier starts, not a limit on the hours you can enter.
- It is tested one week at a time, so a heavy week is not cancelled out by a light one.
- Set the threshold and the multiplier to match your own rules; the panel does not assume a jurisdiction.
