Frequently asked questions
Can I pick pages that are not next to each other?
Yes. Write them together, such as 1-3, 7, 9-10, and the new file holds those pages in that order.
Does cutting lose quality?
No. The pages are copied out of the original with no re-compression, so the content is identical to what you started with.
What are the new files called?
They are named from the original filename and the range you asked for, so they are easy to tell apart once saved.
Can I split more than one PDF at a time?
No. The panel takes one document at a time. Run it again for the next file.
When cutting is the right move
Two ways to cut: name the pages or ranges you want and get one new file, or split every page into a document of its own.
- A single chapter or one signed page is easier to send than a report of two hundred.
- Cutting a section out before sharing means the parts you kept back were never in the file at all.
- Every page as its own file suits scanned batches that need filing separately.
- The pieces can be joined back together later with the merge panel.
