Frequently asked questions
What happens to my original files?
Your original PDF files are not changed. The tool reads them and creates a completely new, merged PDF file for you to save to your device.
How many PDFs can I merge?
There is no fixed limit on the number of files. The main constraint is the amount of memory available to the web browser on your device.
Are bookmarks and links kept?
Bookmarks do not survive. The pages are copied into a fresh document, and the outline tree is not copied with them, whatever the source files had.
What happens if I switch to another tab while it works?
The work pauses and picks up where it left off when you come back. Browsers throttle hidden tabs, so a job left running in the background would slow to a crawl or stall outright.
How can I check that my file isn't uploaded?
Open DevTools and the Network tab, then merge. No request carries your file. The first merge downloads the on-site PDF library; that download is not an upload. The check is on How it works.
Why Merge PDF Files?
This tool joins several PDF files into one document. You can arrange the selected PDFs in your preferred order before their pages are appended to a new file.
- Combining separate documents into a single file simplifies sharing and archiving. It's useful for compiling reports, submitting applications, or creating a single portfolio from multiple sources.
- A merged PDF ensures recipients see content in the intended order. It prevents lost files and makes the document easier to navigate.
