Frequently asked questions
Is the video uploaded?
No. The browser reads and converts it on your device. Only the static converter files are requested by the page.
Which output should I choose?
MP3 is the most widely compatible. WAV is much larger and uncompressed. M4A is compact AAC audio.
Does this change my original video?
No. The result is a separate audio file; the original video is not edited.
Why can a large video fail?
Browser conversion needs memory for the source, working data and result. Close other tabs or use a shorter file if the device runs out of memory.
Audio without sending the video away
Choose one video and the sound is written into a new audio file in this tab. The original is not changed and no server receives it.
- The video is copied into an in-browser conversion worker, and only its audio track is written to the result.
- The same converter is shared by the other Video tools, so a second conversion in the same visit can reuse it.
