Frequently asked questions
How is the result calculated?
The tool uses the unit factors or browser date APIs described in the interface, then updates the output whenever an input changes.
Are my entries uploaded?
No. The calculation runs in your current browser tab, and the tool does not send the values to a server.
Why might my result differ elsewhere?
Rounding, unit definitions and local time-zone rules can vary. Check the selected input type and units before copying the result.
My colleague got a different timestamp from the same date.
Going from a date to a timestamp reads what you typed in this device's own time zone. Two people in different zones therefore get different numbers from identical input. The other direction shows both UTC and local.
Understanding the estimate
Choose timestamp-to-date or date-to-timestamp and enter a value. See UTC, local time, Unix seconds and Unix milliseconds together. Everything runs in the current browser tab.
- The result follows the method named in the tool and rounds figures for easy reading.
- Inputs remain in the browser tab, and the displayed result is ready to copy.
