What is 20% of 250?

Fifty. Pick "What is X% of Y", put 20 and 250 in, and it also shows what is left over.

Why is a 50% rise then a 50% fall not back where I started?

The fall is taken from the bigger number. 100 up 50% is 150; 150 down 50% is 75. Use percent change to see it.

What is the difference between percent and percentage points?

Going from 4% to 6% is two percentage points, but a 50% increase. This tool gives the percent change.

Can I chain two percentages?

Yes. Take the result of one and put it in as the second number of the next.
