Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit on the amount of text?
Yes. The QR standard caps one code at 2,953 bytes at the lowest error correction (L), and less at M, Q and H. Most Chinese and Japanese characters take 3 bytes. Text that is too long shows an error instead of a code.
What is error correction?
It adds data that makes the code readable even if damaged. A higher level of correction creates a more dense QR code.
Can I change the QR code's color?
Yes. One picker sets the code color and another sets the background. Keep the contrast strong, dark on light, so scanners still read it.
Can I put a logo in the middle of any of these codes?
Yes — the logo picker is on every generator mode, not only the logo pages. Size runs from 40 to 100 percent and error correction locks to H automatically so the covered modules stay readable.
How do I check the code I just made actually works?
Read it back here. The same site has a scanner that takes either a camera or an image file, so a code made with a logo or a heavy color can be verified before it goes to print.
When to Use a Text QR Code
Generate a QR code that contains plain text. Just type or paste your text into the field, and the QR code image appears instantly.
- A plain text QR code shares information without needing an internet connection. The data is stored directly in the code itself for offline access.
- This is ideal for product information, instructions, serial numbers, or simple notes on event materials. Anyone with a standard QR scanner can read the text instantly.

| Error correction | Four levels: L, M, Q and H. M to begin with; higher levels stay readable when the code is damaged. |
| Image size | A slider from 256 to 2048 px in steps of 64. It starts at 512. |
| Colors | The code color and the background are both color pickers. |
