No. The SSID, security choice and password are serialized into the QR payload by code running in this browser tab.

Which encryption type should I choose?

Choose the encryption type your router uses (e.g., WPA2, WPA3). WEP is an older, insecure option. 'None' is for open networks without a password. Check your router's settings if you are unsure which one to select.

Will this QR code work with all phones?

Most modern smartphones (both iOS and Android) can scan Wi-Fi QR codes with their native camera app. Some older devices or specific Android scanner apps may not support this function, so it is best to test.

What happens if I change my WiFi password?

The QR code stores the password you enter. If you change your Wi-Fi password, the existing QR code will no longer work. You must generate a new QR code with the updated password to allow connections.

Can I use this for a hidden network?

Yes. If your network name (SSID) is not broadcast, check the 'Network is hidden' box. A user's device will then know to search for that specific hidden network. For regular networks, leave this box unchecked.
