How to use Favicon Generator
- 1
Add Your Source Image
Drag and drop your source image, or click to select a file. A square image of at least 512x512 pixels will give the best results.
- 2
Check What You Get
The panel lists every file the ZIP will hold. There is nothing to set: a square image is used whole, anything else is center-cropped.
- 3
Download the ZIP File
Click the download button to save a ZIP archive containing all the generated favicon files and configuration files.
Frequently asked questions
What is the ideal source image?
A square image of at least 512x512 pixels is best. The tool will resize it to create all the smaller versions needed.
Do I need every file in the ZIP?
Drop favicon.ico and the PNGs at the root of your site, then keep site.webmanifest and browserconfig.xml if you want the Android and Windows entries.
Does this tool create an SVG favicon?
No, this generator focuses on creating a standard set of raster-based favicons (ICO and PNG) for wide compatibility.
How many images can I add at once?
There is no fixed limit. Past about 500 MB the page warns you before it starts. Files with the same name get a number added inside the ZIP. Older browsers are told plainly that they cannot run this.
The site.webmanifest has an empty name. Is that a bug?
No. The name and short_name fields are left blank on purpose, because only you know what your site is called. Open the file in any text editor and fill both in before you deploy.
What is a Favicon?
One square image in, one ZIP out: favicon.ico holding 16, 32 and 48 px, PNGs from 16 up to 512 px, and the site.webmanifest and browserconfig.xml files that go with them.
- A favicon is a small icon representing a website. It appears in browser tabs, bookmarks bars, and other places needing site identity.
- Modern sites need multiple favicon sizes and formats to look sharp on all devices. This generator provides a full set for compatibility.
