What changes when an image is flipped?

Pixel positions are reflected across the selected axis while the canvas dimensions stay the same.

Does this tool rotate my image?

No, it creates a mirror image. Rotation turns an image by a specific degree, while this tool reflects pixels across an axis.

Can I flip an animated GIF?

While you can open an animated GIF, only the first frame will be processed. The output will be a static, non-animated image.

How many images can I add at once?

There is no fixed limit. Past about 500 MB the page warns you before it starts. Files with the same name get a number added inside the ZIP. Older browsers are told plainly that they cannot run this.

Flipping vs. Rotating

This tool mirrors your image across an axis. Choose to flip horizontally for a left-to-right reflection, or vertically for an upside-down inversion.

  • Flipping creates a mirror reflection. A horizontal flip mirrors the image left-to-right. A vertical flip mirrors the image top-to-bottom.
  • Rotation turns an image around a central point without mirroring. A 180-degree rotation turns it upside down, but text remains readable.
