How are 90-degree rotations applied?
The decoded pixel grid is remapped to the selected orientation; output encoding depends on the format.
Can I rotate by a custom angle?
This tool is designed for quick 90-degree corrections. Custom-angle rotation is not available.
What happens to an animated GIF?
Only the first frame of an animated GIF will be rotated. The output will be a static, non-animated image.
How many images can I add at once?
There is no fixed limit. Past about 500 MB the page warns you before it starts. Files with the same name get a number added inside the ZIP. Older browsers are told plainly that they cannot run this.
Image Rotation and EXIF Data
This tool rotates your images by 90, 180, or 270 degrees. It's a quick fix for pictures taken with a camera held at an angle.
- Digital cameras embed orientation data in a photo's EXIF metadata. This tells software how to display the image correctly, even if it is stored sideways.
- Sometimes this EXIF tag is ignored or removed, causing the image to appear sideways. This tool physically rotates the pixel data to fix the orientation.
